Marriott's Timber Lodge in Lake Tahoe

Situated in the southern portion of Lake Tahoe in the new Heavenly Village in South Shore, Marriott’s Timber Lodge is quintessential Lake Tahoe. Close to the gondola and to Lake Tahoe’s world class skiing and other winter sports, and also convenient to the area’s summer sports venues, Timber Lodge – a timeshare facility - offers a wide variety of accommodations and is a popular vacation choice for many singles, couples, and families who return to South Lake Tahoe year after year.

Timber Lodge offers 673 luxury guest rooms and villas of different sizes, all laid out on 6 spacious floors. The guest rooms include one king bed and an additional sofa bed. These 350 square-foot rooms offer a sitting area and a kitchenette that includes a mini refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, and some kitchen supplies. Villas are available in one-, two-, or three-bedroom models. One-bedroom units are similar to guest rooms in that they have one king and one sofa bed. However, they include a full kitchen with large refrigerator, stove, and oven. Maximum occupancy is four. Two- and three-bedroom villas also include multiple bathrooms. The former accommodate 8 guests while the latter house up to 10. All include a full kitchen and most feature a fireplace as well. Other standard amenities in both the guest rooms and villas include hair dryer, iron and ironing board, coffee maker, DVD player, and safe. Some villas have jetted tubs or oversized bath tubs and all have washers and dryers and private balconies. All rooms and public areas at this resort are smoke-free.

There’s an outdoor heated pool on site at Marriott’s Timber Lodge and a children’s pool as well. Also on site is a sizeable fitness room that includes free weights, cardio equipment, treadmills, and stationary bikes. There is no spa at the Marriott but there are several day spas that are very close by. There’s also a golf facility – Edgewood Golf Course – located less than a mile from Timber Lodge. In addition, the onsite Activities Center provides a wealth of things to do for kids and adults of all ages.

Best of all, the Heavenly Gondola is right outside the Marriott’s door, making this one of the most convenient “stay and ski” hotels for snow lovers. Additional guest services include a concierge, daily housekeeping, laundry and dry cleaning service, ski storage, valet parking, and both wired and wireless internet. There’s also a gift shop on the premises, selling snacks, sundries, and small gifts.

There is one restaurant on site at Marriott’s Timber Lodge. Called “Fire and Ice”, this eatery is advertised as an “improvisational grill” and is open for lunch and dinner only. Dress is casual. In addition, there are a host of other restaurants within close proximity to the hotel and many different kinds of cuisine are available.
