Spas in Lake Tahoe
These days, you’ll find a visit to a spa on many
individuals’ vacation itineraries. After all, a vacation is meant to be a
time to relax, and what’s more relaxing than a pampering spa treatment that
puts you at the center of attention? In Lake Tahoe
and the surrounding regions, there are a number of wonderful day spas. Some
can be found inside the hotels and resorts here while others are scattered
around different towns. Most offer a plethora of services. Some are very
posh and fairly expensive; others are more casual and less costly.
Resort Spas
Some of Tahoe’s most plush spas are found in the
region’s nicest resorts. They are open year round and are an ideal place to
chill out after a day on the slopes or several hours spent out in the sun
relaxing or enjoying sports like fishing or hiking. Most of the time,
reservations are necessary at the resort spas, especially at the peak of ski
season or in the middle of the summer.
- Resort at Squaw Creek Spa – The Spa at Squaw Creek
is one of North Lake Tahoe’s most opulent spa
facilities. Decorate in natural materials, it is warm and inviting and a
great place for a respite. There are 10 treatment rooms on site, a
sanctuary where guests can enjoy a warm drink, heated swimming pools, a
hot tub, manicure and pedicure stations, saunas and steam rooms, and a
boutique. The spa menu includes a long list of massages, body
treatments, and facials.
- Stillwater Spa at Lake Tahoe Hyatt – Decorated in
dark woods and deep leather, the Stillwater Spa at the Hyatt Casino
Resort is sizeable though quite intimate and comfortable. This spa
offers many signature services, inspired by the elements of air, earth,
water, and fire. There are 16 treatment rooms including two for couples
that feature either an infinity tub or fireplace. There’s also a large
fitness room, a full-service salon, sauna and steam rooms, and
relaxation rooms.
- Onsen Spa at Mont Bleu Resort – The full-service
spa and fitness center at Mont Bleu is a great place to soothe your mind
and body, and as an added bonus, the booking of a treatment here gives
you an all-day pass to enjoy the fitness facility. Besides a wide range
of treatments, there’s also a relaxation room, whirlpool tubs, saunas,
and eucalyptus steam rooms.
- Cal Neva Resort Euro Spa – A favorite with the
locals, this smaller spa offers a wide range of pampering services
including outdoor massages on the deck overlooking the lake. Beautiful!
Sign up for just a single treatment or package several together and
spend the day in the spa.
Other Day Spas
You’ll also find a variety of day spas not connected to
a particular resort located throughout Tahoe. Most are just wonderful!
Though many day spas welcome walk-ins, it’s not always possible for the
staff to accommodate you if you decide on a last-minute treatment, so when
you arrive, think about making reservations.
- Shannon’s Lake Tahoe Spa –
Dubbed the “Best of Tahoe” day spas by local media for four years
running, Shannon’s is situated in
South Lake Tahoe. The spa offers a vast variety
of body treatments, massages, and facials for singles and couples and
also touts its “Pamper Parties”, which accommodate groups of four or
more who want to enjoy their pampering together.
- Waters Day Spa – Operating in tandem with Tim
Christenson’s Push Fitness facility, this spa offers massages, body
wraps, facials, and a host of salon services. Indulge in a treatment and
you’ll receive free access to the fitness center as well, which includes
an aerobics studio and racquetball courts, whirlpools, steam rooms, and
sauna.
- Clearwater
Day Spa – Situated in North Lake Tahoe in
Tahoe
City, the Clearwater Day Spa
boasts plenty of experienced therapists on staff. Massages and facials
make up most of the menu but clients can also get a spray tan here,
enjoy nail and waxing services, and brides can bring their bridal party
in for make-up application on the day of the big event.
